The Dark Knight Rises is the last of Christopher Nolan’s Batman Trilogy. These are the grown up Batman films and this is a stunning conclusion to the set. Christian Bale has excelled as the caped crusader and Nolan has given a new dimension to what has previously been treated as something of a comedy character. Batmans nemesis on this occasion is the mighty Bane who, in this incarnation, is my favourite Batman adversary and Catwoman, who has a much better back story than when she previously appeared in a earlier Batman movies. Michael Cane and Morgan Freeman return with their usual panache and all in all this is superb. Go and see it. (4.5)
